SCL 4710 Sumter SC Aug 1980
A GP16 leads a couple of GP7s on a local coming into Sumter. Pulpwood racks and tank cars are visible. The SCL had a short spur from Cane Savannah to Shaw AFB and quite a few DOD tanks loaded with jet fuel came through Sumter.
SCL 4710 is a six month old GP16, ex SCL 818 ACL 198 delivered in June 1951.
SCL 820 and SCL 804 are ex ACL 200 and ACL 184 respectively, both delivered in 1951 and both retired in the mid 1980s, neither would be rebuilt.
