Dance with The Shadows (rear)

The Shadows began as Cliff Richard's backing group under the name of 'The Drifters', but had to change because of the U.S. vocal group of the same name who were threatening legal action, so The Shadows they became.

Over the years there were some changes in the line-up of the band, but Hank B. Marvin, Bruce Welch and Brian Bennett are the names that most fans would identify with.

Still popular today after more than 50 years at the top, their hits are legendary. Instrumentals such as "Apache", "FBI" and "Wonderful Land" are just a few of the great tunes that will live on indefinitely.

They retired as a band in 2010, but individually they still perform today.

The above album, their 3rd, was released in 1964.

By this time Jet Harris and Tony Meehan had left the band and had been replaced by Brian Locking (Bass) and Brian Bennett (Drums).

During the making of this album, Locking left to devote his time to his vocation within the Jehovah's Witness sect and was replaced by John Rostill.

Brian Locking played on 3 tracks on this album :- "Blue Shadows"; "Dakota" & "French Dressing".

The record went on to reach No. 2 on the album charts.
