The hut was built in the 1960s-70s for logging purposes. It was built by Valley Sawmilling Co for the logging contractors and bush crew. It was prefabricated at the timber mill at Eurobin (as was the original Riley Hut), carted in and erected on site, about 1970. Not a lot of traffic went that way so it was mainly used by people who knew it was there, consequently it was well looked after { Carroll}.
