Ferhad Pasha Mosque

This a picture of the Ferhad Pasha Mosque in Bosnia. “Tower was endowed by Hasan Nazir and built by Mimir Ramadan-aga.” This was one of the oldest and most valued mosque of the Muslim faith in Bosnia until 1993 when terrorist blew it up with landmines. The mosque had been standing since 1583. The U.S. was acting as the negotiator at the time and also had to send in U.S. troops to help settle the violence. The bombing launched a series of attacks on mosques through out the country. The bombers were trying to force the Muslim people to leave their country and were so called “ethnic cleansers.” The end result left the country divided into 3 ethnic groups and the U.S. military still continues to patrol some sections of the country incase of a sudden rise in violence.
