Broadaxe and Fellers Axe

I'm hewing a beam with 2 tools: a Gransfors Bruks American Fellers Axe and a Waters and Co. broad axe from the mid-1800's.

 

I love working with these two axes when they're razor sharp and the wood is straight grained and green. This timber was all knotty and twisted, but having sharp tools made the work fast.
