Bliss Feed Mill
The subject of the absolute very first 35mm photo I ever took was the RH Bliss Feed Mill that was once a resident in Oconomowoc. For years, this structure was tied to the activity of the Milwaukee Road until modern technologies and trucks eliminated a need for it. The mill sat abandoned but intact for years, however by 1989 it's owners decided to bring this classic wood structure down. By this time, both the east and west wings have fallen with only the center remaining vertical. By the time summer arrives, there will be nothing left but a muddy plot of earth. Today, this is the site of (what else) a storage unit complex.
A pleasant and warm April evening finds the last of the day's sunlight giving one of Oconomowoc's oldest "skyscrapers" a fabulous farewell.
