Unusual Trinity (Sighişoara, Romania)
Frescoes provide an interesting historical glimpse of the changing face of religion. Many Christian orthodox churches depict god as a male figure with a triangular halo. This remnant of a 15th century Saxon fresco, in the Church on the hill, (Sighişoara, Romania) (Europe) uses a less common three-faced image to represent the trinity. Or so I was told.
Tripods were not allowed, so I balanced the camera on my foot to catch this portion of a painted arch. Scanned Fuji Reala film, available light, July, 2006.
As noted in a discussion with d_a_s1977 below, I was told at the entrance that photography without flash or tripod was acceptable. I was using Fuji Reala 100 at the time and could not manage other interior views given available lighting. Claudiast shares a photo from Italy depicting a three headed trinity.
Mberry shows another Italian Trinity with a corporeal theme though only 2/3 are immediately apparent.
