Details and History

The Library of Congress website offers a multitude of historical images, many with no known restrictions on use. This image is derived from the 1898 B. W. Kilburn stereograph titled Ice cream merchant, Constantinople, Turkey. The Ottoman empire existed from 1299 to 1923, collapsing after the failure of its economic structure.
