Reinterpreting the monotonous walk across a trestle bridge.
Background
A stationary camera shows a static background with a subject changing position in successive exposures. Muybridge's motion studies, in contrast, simulate a moving camera and show an effectively stationary subject against a moving background. These may be displayed as a polyptych or combined into multiple exposures on a single frame, as here, to emphasize the subject.
Technical Trivia
Three images were scaled for maximal congruency of the pedestrian then stacked. Color was enhanced as indicated below, then with DFT Filmstocks (Kodachrome 25). See below for penultimate images which were blended to give this result.
