Infrared: Brutalist sculpture garden 1
Utata's recent "Public Art" weekend project has me wondering how to capture an artwork in its environs without simply defaulting to a documentary style.
Technical Trivia
Shot with a Hoya R72 infrared filter (720nm cutoff) hand-held over the lens (note vignetting). At ISO 400 and widest aperture exposure times were 1/10 sec and files were extremely noisy. Noise reduction in Lightroom or Noise Ninja was not pleasing. A useful alternative was using Topaz Restyle to replace the palette with one from a green-tinged cross-processed Fuji Sensia image I admire, then converting to B&W in Lightroom. This darkened the white specks in dark areas without consequently destroying leaf detail.
