Harris shutter (cannon fire 3/3)
The Harris shutter effect combines different color layers from three successive shots to give colored ghosts to moving elements. One of these frames can be seen here as a normal image.

The expanding cloud of smoke gives an interesting effect. Movement of the crew and branches lends additional artifacts. I tried this hand-held, and had to do a lot of work to get frames this close to registry. (One layer was severely rotated) If you are inspired to give it a try, use a tripod.
