Log Mansion
More like a block pit! I settled on my final measurements. It will we 88 X 96. I had to pull all the furniture to the edges of the room to lay it out. Now I need some help...
1. I need either six more 8" blocks or one more 16" and two 8". Do you think it needs another big block? I could shift the blue one over a row and then place another big one in that upper corner. If so which color?
2. What do you think about the general big block layout. I'm going for random, but that's tricky.
3. How much should I tweak? This is a straight take one of every color and lay them down. No real rhyme or reason. In order of priority, I'm looking at... color balance, value balance (are the darkest and lightest fabrics evenly dispersed? (I think I need to work on the yellow a bit)), and finally quilting style (no big clumps of spirals, straight lines parallel to one another, etc).
4. Backing and binding: I selected Timeless Treasure Charcoal Sketch in Flannel for the back. I "think" I have enough to bind it in the same. Do you think I should? It would create a bit of a frame. Or should I go for a completely scrappy binding? I have a lot of strings left.
Any other thoughts or suggestions. I feel like I got in a bit over my head on this one and would appreciate your thoughts.
