There has always been speculation that a deal was done after Rapson's took over Highland Scottish and the Inverness town services were abandoned. It was off course illegal to sell a service, but there are always ways around that. I've heard of former operators being engaged as consultants, vehicles sold for exorbitant prices etc. It was often done so that payments would be spread over several years.
I am not saying that Stagecoach did anything untoward, and it could just be a coinsidence that they acquired these ex Highland vehicles.
