AA BUSES M388KVR
M388KVR was a Dennis Dart 9.8SDL / Northern Counties B39F delivered new to AA Buses owner Dodd's of Troon in March 1995, and was captured in Irvine. AA had been a co-operative, but Dodd's became sole owner in 1992 after buying Youngs' share. They had also moved to a spacious new depot in Ayr in August 1994, so money must have been tight. A new policy of leasing vehicles was activated at this time and Cheshire Bus and Coach (dealer) of Knutsford was heavily involved in supplying new buses for fleet modernisation. Sadly on 29th June 1997 all AA Buses operations and 41 buses passed to Stagecoach Western, although Dodd's would reinvest the proceeds into their high quality coach operations, which happily run to the present day.
M388KVR became Stagecoach Western number 403 in June 1997. It would return to the dealer after the lease expired and subsequently join Safeguard of Guildford the following year. It would later pass to Reg`s Coaches of Welwyn in 2006.
