Touch-And-Go

The military uses Roanoke Regional Airport for pilot training, whether it is a small Naval trainer from Oceana NAS, or the big Air Force VIP units from Langely.

This 757 variant was making passes while I was on my way to the rec center, then changed it's route just as I got there. But I timed it just right to arrive at the bottom of the hill where I live to catch this shot of it coming in on final. I got inside, and went out on the balcony to await the next pass, when suddenly it came from the other direction! I got off three shots of it heading around for another pass, and waited for it to come back, as I would now be ready for it when it cleared the roofline. I got two more shots, and that was it's last run. Wheels up, it headed back to home base, and I was at the end of the roll. 39 shots on this one.

That's all the testing for now. For a 95 cent camera, it did good. I don't know if I can use 100 ISO film in it, as that would at least help a bit on the resolution. From the looks of the exposures though, I think this camera was made for 400 speed film, so I wouldn't want to waste exposures trying out the 100. This one is not an award winner, but it would do in a pinch.
