Kiyomizudera 清水寺

From an earlier post of mine, which explains my deep connection to this place. This is the view point of the temple seen in the four etchings that I refer to:
'Since I first laid eyes on this magnificent Buddhist temple, in the form of the four seasons etchings by the great Jörg Schmeisser, it was 36 years before I could actually stand on this ground in 2015 and see it for myself.
I met Schmeisser at the Canberra School of Art in 1979 while he was working on the proofs for Winter. At the time, I was studying Fine Art History at the Australian National University. The image of Winter simply took my breath away, and changed how I saw printmaking and, by extension, drawing and photography forever. I bought the full set later that year, having to borrow the money to do it.
His four seasons etchings take up one wall of my bedroom, as they have done so for the past 29 years in my current home, so I sleep and dream with Kiyomizu every night. It is a very special place to me.
I have since collected other Schmeisser etchings, including a large Uluru triptych, Ladakh landscapes and images of sugar cane firing.'
