Station Auxiliary Panels
The four cabinets on the right are switchgear control panels for powering up everything from coal pulverizers to water pumps, and everything in between using four independent bus circuits. The voltages range from 13,800 (shown in gold color) to 480 (green). The cabinet on the far end housed the automatic load controls for the four 13.8KV generating units. The third and forth cabinets are controls and distribution panels for the large station batteries and their charging units. These panels stand in the back of the electrical control room of the old Union Carbide Corp. Metals Division's powerhouse.
