A thin bamboo pole with lights and bells must be enough to stop traffic. Here at Shuili. Bamboo poles as a barrier is a Japanese railway heritage something I discovered later while visiting Japan for the first time. Taiwan was under Japanese colonial rule from 1895 until 1945 they developed most of the railway system.
