Vista to Win7 upgrade FAIL: Vista Enterprise cannot be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate
Tried upgrading my corporate tablet running Vista Enterprise to the Win7 Release Candidate. (It's my job to do these sorts of things.)
But Ultimate is the only edition RC1 was released in, both to the Win7 beta and on TechNet!
So how the blazes am I supposed to test if an in-place upgrade of our corporate image from Vista to Win7 works or not, so I can report bugs against the in-place upgrade process before Win7 goes RTM?! This is not good! I need an Enterprise Edition Win7 RC build pronto!
Lastly, to Microsoft - this is yet another example of how this practice of slicing up your products into bazillions of Editions harms your customers. Please stop.
