Inverted Gibbous Moon

This photograph of a Gibbous Moon - taken with a Canon EOS 1000D and C8 telescope - has been inverted in PSE to show the subtle albedo variations more clearly. The dark maria appear light and the bright highlands dark, making for a rather weird looking photograph - it isn't pretty! However, features such as Tycho's ray system show up a bit more clearly. Note how dark the bright crater Aristarchus appears, on the terminator.
