My First Pickup
My first pickup! This is going to be the new bridge pickup for the guitar. Before I tore everything apart, I loosened the strings and wiggled the Seymour Duncan out and monkeyed this guy in. It sounded as good as I could have hoped for.
It's a PAF replica with a 10% overwind and a 1% imbalance between the coils (one is 5530 turns and the other is 5470 turns). I just need to pot it and put a cover on it, and it will be finished.
I got the kit and pickup winder from Stewart-Macdonald (www.stewmac.com). They've got a great online store, and a bunch of great information. Check them out if you like guitars, making stuff, and are thinking about combining the two.
