Realistic Boombox
Peace To All,
This is a Realistic Modulaire 850, boombox, ghetto blaster. It's smaller than my JVC, but it's loud and clear. I purchased this for $2.00 because it was full of grease. It appears that someone had this in a filty kitchen, and never bothered to clean it.
I saw that no one even wanted to touch it, and had a good feeling that it would be a nice working unit and also a little project.
Couple of hours later, this is the result. I had to degrease the whole system, solder a loose wire on the speaker, and add 2 screws to the right speaker, to keep it in place on the plastic. A complete overhaul!
Now, it's a wonderful little system with the aux feature, so I can plug my cell and ipod. It goes to show that garbage is not aways garbage. What did you rescue today?
