During the German Occupation of Jersey in the Second World War, three huge observation towers were built as part of Hitlers Atlantic Wall defences, Their purpose was to direct artillery fire against targets out to sea. The wall defences, comprising 15,000 structures stretched from Norway to the Loire in France. Today one of these towers , La Corbiere Radio Tower, is available as holiday accommodation.
