Bark House

Bark House mountain base, located near to Ashness Bridge is a single room "bunk house" used as basic accommodation, fitted with 12 bunk beds, open fire, gas cooker and toilet facilities. Originally used in connection with bark stripping for the local tannery, now a regular place to stay for the likes of the scouting movement and keen walkers.
