"3 H C"

IN ENGLISH BELOW THE LINE

Picture taken with a KMZ Zorki-4 "50 Octobers" edition, made in 1967; Jupiter-8 f2/50mm; Fomapan 100 film, developed with Atomal 49. This camera was presented to the Soviet officer A. I. Bozhkov in 1967.

This is a communist era item photographed with a communist camera owned by a soviet army officer and with communist era film and developer, or at least it's modern equivalents.

Detail of a multiplerocket launcher truck, popularly known during World War II as Katyusha or Stalin's Organs. But in this case I am interested in the detail of the brand since it is a ZIS or ЗиС (from Zavod ímeni Stalina). Many of an earlier model, the ZIS-5, were sent to the Spanish Republican Army during the civil war there, where they were known, due to ignorance of the Cyrillic alphabet, as "3 Hermanos Comunistas" (3 H C), that is Three Communist Brothers.

This one stands in the Museum of Polish Military Technology (Muzeum Polskiej Techniki Wojskowej), in Fort IX, south of Warsaw.

This photo is part of a trip through central Poland, focused especially on the most tragic moments of the Holocaust and World War II, which devastated Poland like few places, but which at the same time contrasts with the incredible rebirth of the country up to the present day.
