My inspiration behind this piece was geometric shapes. I wanted each tile to relate to each other in a very obvious way. So that is why I wanted to make each one a geometric shape. That way it is clear how they all relate together. I also wanted to keep what I did to each tile consistent. That is why I decided to fold the excess paper around the geometric shapes. It is difficult to see in the picture but some of the foldings are folded up for positive space and some are folded down for negative space. I was extremely happy with how this turned out creating a great representation of negative and positive space. I was very please with how this piece turned out as a result and I feel it follows the guidelines of our project very well.
