Whoopi Goldberg - Digital Illustration / Print

I created these illustrations as part of my coursework for AS Graphic Design. I really enjoyed the process of learning how to illustrate from photographs as it was something I had never previously done before. I learnt a lot of new skills in Illustrator, plus I got the chance to make mockup posters for Manchester Art Gallery.

 

I started with perhaps Whoopi Goldberg's most iconic role, 'Sister Mary Clarance' in Sister Act (1 & 2). I used a lot of shadows and highlights on her habit to add a 3D aspect to the illustration.
