When is my kitchen? 1920 house, remodeled in midcentury, but needs more cuteness

Coutertops are too high, but I plan a mid-century re-do of the kitchen. It's already there, really, but the butcher-block laminate fails to charm me. The wallpaper has got to go (apologies to Pam! ;-)
