It executes 360º scans in a couple of minutes, recording around 15 million points as it does so. It transmits the data by wireless connection to a receiving laptop PC nearby.
I stood still about 3 metres away as the laser swept over me. The result looked like a monochrome negative photograph, but it is also a partial 3d model. I was told it cost $200,000.
