Weekends, part 1.

I had the task of picking up my chariot dropped off in Coos Bay (2 hours) on Friday, then riding her maiden oregonian voyage to Medford (another three hours) and then back to coast (2.5 hours). True story- my

Mother dented the rim of the wheel when we first got Bloo from a NYPD. My brother chose to use my vehicle for months after his was out of commission (self- inflicted situation with an intended installation of a $5k supercharger gone wrong) without replacing the rim. When I received it, he advised me to change the tires and the dented rim. But then, if the tires and the rim were an issue, why did he drive it for 60 consecutive days 40 miles a day? Anyway, I went to the meineke at Medford and they replaced the tires after they called a guy in Grants Pass willing to sell his wrx rim for a Benjamin, how lucky was I? Felt like i won the lotto. Headed home via the 197-199 to coast and almost rammed into a SUV that broke suddenly- we found this twisted 18-wheeler hanging off the 199. About 6 feet of him was over the edge, about to fall into the middle fork of the smith river. Terrible accident, we were probably the first ones at the scene. 5 miles of flares, set up. I drove speed limit around the curves after that. Turn of events, certainly puts a damper on the day.

Anyway, Saturday I finally pinned, baste-stitched and followed by a really small whip-stitch the chambray shift dress I've been working on. Helen, ain't you proud? By this time you're working on your third piece and I'm barely finishing my first. My back is arched incorrectly (due to a minor case of scoliosis as a child) but I'm trying my best to fit this rather thin material and adapt it to curvature.

Ive made a bath soak a weekly ritual ever since I discovered this French bath tablet that has some sort of plant extract in it- gives me the weirdest feeling ever. It's almost like, 10 minutes through a soak my lungs feel pressure and my chest feels terribly heavy.... And then I get this light headedness as nausea and I have to crawl out of the tub. Only this weekend I found myself lying on towels on the carpeted portion of the bathroom (which, thank god, is generously sized) post-immersion. I can't describe the feeling but the few times I've tried it, it ranges from a calm/sleepy/mellow to partially comatose state. It's got me pretty hooked. Burn a candle and have a cup of tea and then I'm done for the night. Great way to end a weekend on Sunday. I'm really wondering what is in that tablet.
