Wat Rong Suea Ten, or the Blue Temple is a fairly new temple in Chiang Rai, designed by a student of the White Temple's creator (it shows). The temple is described is a stunning temple famous for its vibrant sapphire blue and gold artwork, intricate carvings, and large white Buddha statue.
Like many other large temples in Thailand, the surrounding area is a complex related to the large temple - the Blue Temple is one of these. There is an interesting museum and a number of side buildings to visit. Also, there are some shops on one side of the complex. One of these shops was selling blue coconut ice cream - that was worth a stop in itself!
