Lufthansa 747-800 landing at FRA
I have flown thru Frankfurt many times but except for the Visitor Terrace in Terminal 2 I have never done any plane watching there. What a dummy! We were ending our Germany adventure and had some free time before returning the rental car so we checked out some of the spotting locations. The first one was near the Berlin Airlift Memorial - nice location but the planes were landing from the south and most takeoffs were pretty high by the time they were in photo range. We then drove to the south side of the airport and had a good view of SE departures (even though most departures were going north). I think I'll have to take a plane spotting trip to Germany next year.
