Art inside the Guildhall Art Gallery
I hate to admit it, but after dozens of visits to London, I had never visited the Guildhall Art Gallery. Well, I made a point to go there this time around - one of the best things I've ever done. The Gallery is attached to the Guildhall, a classic looking building. The Gallery is free to visit and the staff I dealt with were awesome - knowledgeable and helpful. The permanent collection was quite nice, but the special exhibition, the works of Evelyn de Morgan, blew my socks off. I was not familiar with her works, but they are outstanding. Her paintings edge toward fantasy and featured strong, beautiful women (some nudity, so don't look if you are easily offended). The colors are amazing. I think I spent about two hours wandering around - and most of the time I had the Gallery to myself. I'm pretty sure I will hit this Gallery at least once a year.
