I lived in Germany many years ago but never visited Speyer. Our friend suggested we check it out and we're glad we did. What a lovely city - there is so much to see and do. We checked out the Speyer Cathedral which is a UNESCO World Heritage site - impressive. The rest of the city had a real nice feel to it - and it was packed with tour groups. From here we went to Heidelberg - another popular tourist stop. We went up to the castle and then ambled around the city. It was so cold and windy that we just had to pop into a restaurant to warm up with some good German food and beer.
