Make way!
The last time I was at Oktoberfest was around 1992 so my memory was a bit foggy - a combination of age and beer apparently. We made a day trip from Garmisch to Munich to check it out. We left Garmisch a little after 9 a.m. and the train was packed with a bunch of people drinking already. That is a bit early for wine and Jagrmeister - yuck. We arrived on the grounds and walked around a bit - the place was huge with a theme or amusement park atmosphere. Some of the rides and adventures looked pretty cool. We eventually made our way into some of the beer halls - they hold 5,000 people. It wasn't even noon on a weekday and the halls were already packed. It was definitely a fun experience and I think We will be going back again soon.
