Markarian's Chain

7 mins 30s of exposure (15x30s) using a 4" Celestron NexStar 102SLT and Nikon D90 at prime focus. ISO3200. Frames processed in DSS and Photoshop. Taken on the 8th May 2016. There are a number of galaxies in this image which are all part of the Virgo Cluster. Starting at bottom right is the elliptical galaxy M84. Above and to the left of this is the giant elliptical galaxy M86 sandwiched between two edge-on spirals NGC 4402 (above) and NGC 4388 (below). Further up the chain are the "Eyes"; two interacting galaxies NGC 4438 and NGC 4435. Another three galaxies can be seen further up the chain. The giant elliptical galaxy M87 is in the bottom left of the picture.
