a cat lover’s banksia
oh yes, i’m a cat lover! and no, i don’t have a cat. to be honest, i never had a single pet my whole life (at least if you ignore all the crickets, snails, ants and everything else i shamefully kept as a child). despite the fact that the words “echter hund” (real dog) appeared on several wish lists of my childhood. it’s sad, i know. i certainly missed out and will have to make up for that by having a little crowd of pets someday. but i truly can relate to cats – most days i wish i was one! and if i were an animal, i’d definitely be a cat. so kitty fabric it is. and kitty buttons. and kitty binding. it's a cat lover’s banksia after all. i read so many mixed reviews of this pattern, so i was prepared to make a few muslins. but luckily one was enough! i adjusted the shoulder seam placement, lengthened the bust darts a bit, shortened the sleeves (i never buy enough fabric!), drafted a new collar (because everyone apparently had problems with the collar and it seemed a little big, but i’ll definitely try it some day – the shape of mine is a bit weird – not enough fabric)… and that’s it!
