The people of the time started to look more toward evoloutinary principals, in stead of the bible, such as the uniformaitarian principle. He also makes use of thermal energy as a contributer to the process. Fire was not the only source of heat and his acknowlegements of this made his views unique.He composed his ideas in a work called theory of the earth.
