The trials vehicle based at Bovington and invariably fitted with so much kit that it is known informally as Megatron, this Challenger 2 at the Tank Museum's Tankfest 2025 provides a view of the iron fist of the British Army's front line. Much of the fleet is about to be upgraded to Challenger 3 standard with hull improvements, a new turret and smoothbore 120mm gun to increase interoperability with other NATO nations: deliveries to production standard should start next year.
