The Cougar was a license-built Canadian version of the Swiss MOWAG Piranha 6X6 armoured personnel carrier. For Canadian service from 1976 to 2005 as an armoured training vehicle the turret from the British Alvis Scorpion (a CVRT variant with a 76mm gun) was fitted. Changing circumstances led to some of the vehicles seeing active service abroad. In addition to 6 wheel drive the Cougar was amphibious, fitted with two propellers, making it a versatile high mobility asset. This example is shown displaying during a Cold War armour demonstration as part of Tankfest 2021 at the Tank Museum, Bovington Camp.
