Automatic doors
These are pully attachments for an automated door closer in Congress Hall. Presumably, they were attached in the nineteenth century, and we never removed them. When the door opens, it pulls a line going through the wheel on the right, over to the wheel on the left, and down to a weight. The weight then pulls the door closed once the hand relieves its pressure.
