002(presidents box)
The luxury box on the right (just above the 4 little white boxes with the window open) in the Mariners Presidents box. Chuck Armstrong sits up there and catches all the home games.
On April 15, 2008 (Jackie Robinson Day), my friend Jo won tickets to sit in that box and watch the M's play the Royals. She was really cool and shared her extra ticket with me.
Lenny Wilkins (the Hall of fame basketball player) was also sitting in the box along with us and Chuck. About half way through the game, Dave Henderson (who now does some announcing for the Mariners) came into the box to hang out for awhile. He was wearing the World Series ring that he won back in '89 when the A's swept the Giants in the Bay Bridge Series. When I asked him if I could try it on, he took it off and handed it to me. I seriously thought about jumping out of the box with it on and making a break for the exit. I decided against it when I realized I wouldn't get very far with the $10,000+ ring if I had a broken leg or 2.
It was one of the best pure baseball experiences I have ever had.
On a side note.....
For the Hydro Races during the 7th inning stretch, Chuck Armstrong, another guy in the box and me all put in a dollar and picked a color. I took green (as always) and won by a nose. Good times.
