Successful cooking attempt
Elliot and Tina went grocery shopping with me to advise me on simple meals to make at home. I ended up buying rice noodles, carrots, tofu, and chicken broth. Only the last two required reading skills, but I would not have been able to find the right products without their help.
The next day Ayi showed me how to use the stove (simple really) and where the cutting board, cleaver, and other implements were, and I made carrot-tofu-noodle soup. Simple, edible if a little bland, but a good start for home cooking here.
I also am looking forward to making beef stew in the pressure cooker; Shushu makes millet porridge in it every morning.
