Built in 1998 by Incat Tasmania Pty. Ltd. Hobart (yard no. 47) as CATALONIA for Buquebus SA. On her delivery voyage, via New York and Ceuta, she won the Hales Trophy for the fastest crossing of the Atlantic by a passenger vessel, clocking up an average speed of 38.85 knots. Renamed CATALONIA L in 1999 and placed on the Barcelona to Palma de Mallorca service. Chartered to P&O European Ferries in the summers of 2000, 2001 and 2002, each time being renamed PORTSMOUTH EXPRESS for the Portsmouth to Cherbourg route. Renamed EXPRESS in 2003, initially on the same route, then being chartered for a variety of Irish Sea routes. Sold in 2015 to Nordic HSC AB and, after drydocking at Landskrona, placed on the Västervik - Visby - Nynäshamn service. Chartered to Viking Line in 2017 for service between Helsinki and Tallinn.
Sold in 2018 to Golden Fast Ferries Maritime Co. Piraeus, renamed GOLDEN EXPRESS. Sold in 2019 to Golden Star Ferries Sc. renamed SUPEREXPRESS.
