Yes, another. Pontiac couldn't make the high-perforamce sport versions of the Lemans/Tempest intermediates fast enough, at least until the Arab Oil EMbargo ruined everything. But the idea of turning a mild-mannered family car into a high-performance sporting machine has carried on, outlasting the GTO and Pontiac, continuing wit hthe "hot hatch" cars that offer sports-car performance in a family-car package.
