Creamer's Seasonal Pond_IMG_2637

The weather here in interior Alaska has been very strange for the last couple of weeks. This time of year we should see low temps around -10F (roughly -20C) and high temps around 0F (roughly -15C). Instead due to downsloping Chinook winds it's been in the upper 30's to low 40's F (about +4 to +6C). The snow is melting and compacting. The weather man is calling for these types of temps to remain for another 4 or 5 days.

 

Everyone always talks about the golden hours for photography (1 hour before and after sunrise/sunset) Here they happen at the same time. These photos were taken around noon. As you see the sun doesn't get too high right now.
