Forsythia- the first major indication that the spring season IS truly here. An English gardener one publicly poo-pooed Canadian gardeners for relying so heavily on Forsythia for spring colour. I disagree whole heartedly! When you have lived through the cold, grey, unpredictability of late winter here, the sure fire golden glow of Forsythia is a VERY welcome treat. This climate is far too harsh for some of the tender, colourful lovelies of the English spring garden :-( We do our best with what God gave us here!
