The Antiphon Painter

The inner part of the kylix (cup) shows an athlete holding an “aryballos”, vessel for oil, with his right hand.

Behind him it’s possible to recognize a stool, a staff and a couple of “halters” suspended in the background.

On the external surface of the kylix, between eyes, a Doric column behind a horse and a youth with a staff are depicted
