Apulian Pottery in Fiesole – X

“Guttus”, a vessel with a narrow mouth or neck, from which liquids were poured in drops. Its name derives from the latin word "gutta": drop. The body of this "guttus" is modeled as a female protome, equipped with a ribbon-shaped loop and a high oblique spout, placed above the forehead. The vase is made in light orange clay; handle, spout and hair are painted black.
