Wrong Way Round
For the next local service from Ivano-Frakivsk we found a spot overlooking a bridge the Yaremche side of the small halt at Dora. This service turned up being worked by a push/pull DPL1 (ДПЛ1) unit. Generally consisting of half a 2M62 loco and two or three hauled coaches with a driving cab, these can be seen working services predominantly in Ukraine and Belarus. Being numbered in a unit series means the loco part of these can sometimes be quite hard to identify.
DPL1-0021 (ДПЛ1-0021) was one of these with a hard to identify loco, however another group of British enthusiasts out in Ukraine at the same time as us managed to ID the loco section of this as 2M62-1114A. Unfortunately for us it turned up at our chosen shot at Dora with the driving car rather than loco leading into the sun. A quick about-turn though did allow this pleasing view of the unit with 2M62-1114A providing the power on train no.6405 08:25 Ivano-Frankivsk to Yaremche service, not far from journey's end on 24th October 2019.
